This design is called:

The reason is that the solar module does not operate at its nominal maximum power all day.

However, the maximum oversizing ratio must comply with the inverter manufacturer's technical specifications.

Solar panels are generally designed for a lifespan of approximately 25-30 years. Under normal installation, maintenance, and usage conditions, many solar panels can still generate electricity after 30 years, although their power generation efficiency will gradually decrease over time. Manufacturers typically provide a power warranty of around 25-30 years.

Is higher power rating for solar panels always better? Can solar panels of different brands and power ratings be used together?

Not necessarily.

High-power modules can reduce the number of modules needed for the same system power, but the following factors must be considered:
Module size
Roof area
Weight
Voltage
Current
Inverter compatibility
Installation structure
For example, a 500W module may not be suitable for all residential rooftops.

It is not recommended to mix solar panels of different power ratings and brands indiscriminately.
Different modules may have different:

If the parameters within the same string differ significantly, it may affect the overall power generation efficiency.
If mixing is absolutely necessary, calculations should be performed by a professional based on the MPPT and string design.

Firstly, it's because of the different power ranges. Secondly, inverters are divided into single-phase and three-phase inverters. The three-phase versions are further differentiated into those that can connect to high-voltage batteries and those that can connect to 48V low-voltage batteries, while the single-phase versions can only connect to low-voltage batteries.

When selecting a battery for matching, you must confirm:

Battery voltage range

CAN / RS485 communication

BMS compatibility

Maximum charge/discharge current

Deye inverters support multiple units connected in parallel, for example... Two 10kW inverters connected in parallel can achieve a 20kW output power. Generally, 6-8 inverters can be connected in parallel; the specific number supported depends on the model's specifications.

When choosing a suitable hybrid inverter, consider:

1. Selecting a single-phase or three-phase voltage version based on your household load.

2. Choosing an output power appropriate for your household load.

3. Selecting a suitable low-voltage battery or high-voltage battery pack based on your household load.

If your load is high at night, with high-power appliances and an electric vehicle charging station, a three-phase inverter with a high-voltage battery pack is recommended. If your load is low at night, a low-voltage battery is sufficient for basic appliances like refrigerators, TVs, computers, and air conditioners.

Energy storage batteries can primarily:

Store excess solar energy during the day
Use solar energy at night
Increase solar energy self-consumption rate
Reduce electricity purchases from the grid
Utilize peak and off-peak electricity pricing in some areas
Provide backup power during power outages

There is no single answer.

It usually depends on:

Calculating based on monthly electricity bills, annual household electricity consumption, average daily electricity consumption, daytime and nighttime electricity usage ratio, available roof area, and whether there are plans to add electrical equipment in the future.

How to calculate how many solar panels are needed?

You can use:

System power ÷ Power per module = Number of modules

For example:

Target system: 6kW

Modules: 450W

Calculation:

6000 ÷ 450 ≈ 13.3

Typically, about 14 450W solar modules can be configured, which is about 6.3kWp.

The final number also depends on:

Inverter MPPT voltage range, maximum input voltage, maximum input current, roof area, and module Voc.

Electricity generation depends on several factors:

Total power of photovoltaic modules
Installation direction
Installation angle
Local sunshine
Season
Temperature
Shading
System losses

For example, a 2000W photovoltaic system does not necessarily generate 2000Wh of electricity per day.
If the local average effective sunshine duration is 4 hours, then the theoretical electricity generation is approximately:
2kW × 4h = 8kWh

Actual electricity generation is also affected by inverter efficiency, temperature, shading, and weather. 

Balcony solar panels can still generate electricity on cloudy days, but the output will decrease.


Solar panels utilize both direct sunlight and diffused light, so they can still generate electricity on cloudy days.

However, generally:
